IE 10 to offer 60% increase in supported modern web standards and 20% increase in real-world site performance, firm claims.
Microsoft has launched Internet Explorer 10 for '700 million Windows 7 customers', and it's claimed to be much faster.
The company claims that IE10 supports for over 30 new modern Web standards, a 60% increase over IE9, as well as improved security and privacy.
Features of the new browser include support for CSS3 Positioned Floats, HTML5 Drag-drop, File Reader API, Media Query Listeners, Pointer Events, and HTML5 Forms.
IE10 improves hardware accelerated performance of SVG and HTML4 by 15% compared to IE 9 with increased drawing performance, and speed reading improved by 30% over IE9, the company said.
In addition, IE10 has integrated spell checking, auto-correct for common spelling mistakes, CSS Text Shadow, CSS 3D Transforms, CSS3 Transitions and Animations, CSS3 Gradient, and SVG Filter Effects.
