Published 16 December 2011

HP has introduced redesigned versions of Envy 17 and Envy 17 3D notebooks.

They come in an all-metal chassis with rounded edges with a black and silver finish. It has a Radiance Backlit keyboard, said to be a new technology developed by HP to provide keyboard illumination using individual LEDs dedicated to each keycap. The keyboard works with advanced proximity sensors to get illuminated when a user approaching the notebook is detected and is deactivated after the user leaves.

It also features six peakers and a subwoofer featuring HP Beats Audio technology.

ENVY 17 has a 43.9cm diagonal display and an Intel Quad Core processor.

Consumers can also get an HP Wireless Audio transmitter separately to access wireless audio without an ENVY notebook.

It has the HP Wi-Fi Touch Mouse x7000 featuring a mouse equipped with touch scroll six customisable buttons, including a button for one-click uploads to Facebook.
